So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
Lord God, we call you Father in great faith of the sonship Jesus Christ has acquired for us by his death, resurrection and ascension. Your new covenant with us, contained in the Holy Word of your gospel of truth, dispenses to us the reward of eternal life through our faith and your free, saving grace. This gives us great hope, the knowledge that eternal salvation has already been won for us by Jesus himself. Your kingdom awaits us, and we approach it with deep faith and sanctity of spirit, knowing we are co-heirs, with a rich inheritance, in your Holy Personage.
Jesus taught us the two greatest commandments, to love you with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength and to love one another as we love ourselves. Only the faith we have received through our baptism by water and by being reborn in the Holy Spirit, receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit, who remains with us, to guide and direct, the faith which increases everyday and becomes new, by adherence to your Holy Word and Holy Will, can lead to our salvific hope, with pure, penitent hearts.
Father, all that you offer us, in the spirit of wisdom and prudence, we acknowledge and attain by putting it to use in our lives, for only you, dwelling with us, through your Holy Spirit and through the abiding power of our Lord Jesus in us, can give us spiritual maturity and perfect trust in you. Your pure, perfect love, dear Father, is our guiding light, and we endeavor to inculcate this unconditional, exalted, love, as examples of our discipleship, keeping it aflame, spreading it by loving our brethren, in Christ Jesus. Amen
