It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
1 Corinthians 13:5
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Word, which guides us in love and truth. You have commanded us to love, and to love completely. We seek to obey your Holy command and seek your wisdom and grace to perform our Christian duties and to love and serve our neighbours with an unselfish and caring attitude. Lord, help us to embody love that does not dishonor others. Let our words and actions be respectful and kind, lifting others up rather than tearing them down, especially in their need.
Teach us to abandon self-seeking desires. May we find joy in serving others and putting their needs before our own, following the example of Christ. Grant us patience, forbearance and a calm spirit, so we are not easily angered. Help us to respond with grace and understanding, even in challenging situations. May we carry forth the healing touch of Jesus to our Christian brethren, to offer solace and succour in the trials and tribulations that we face in this world.
Finally, Father, guide us to forgive and let go of past wrongs. Free us from holding onto grudges, and fill our heart with your love that keeps no record of wrongs. May we live and let live, to foster the peace that our Lord Jesus has filled us with, through the Power of his Holy Spirit. May this peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill our hearts and minds and may we extend it to others, in Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen
