My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. – I Corinthians 2:4
Heavenly Father, we thank you with grateful hearts for endowing us with your Holy Spirit, indwelling within our hearts, counseling and guiding, with admonishment and exhortations, encouragement and great stirring of the heart. Our testimonies will become baseless, without the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. There will be conversion in the hearts of men only by the Spirit’s power and direction, as it sanctions the words of the preacher.
Lord, help us realize the fact that verbal dialogue and communication is not very effective if the Spirit is absent and we can testify to the Truth of your Holy Word contained in the Holy gospel only when our preaching is empowered and tempered by the Spirit, for it is then that it will bring real repentance in the hearts of the hearers. Our preaching is gauged fully, in the presence of the Spirit and the language used is not important to make a true presentation, if it is a teaching made through the power of the Spirit.
Father in heaven, as we evangelize to give and reveal the good news of your Kingdom to people living in various parts of the world, assist us in propagating the teachings of our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, through your Spirit. For neither by embellishments nor by eloquence of speech, can the hearts of men be won, but with humility and sincerity. We place the Word of your promises, and the free gift of salvation before men, praying that we will fulfill our mission of increasing fellowship in Christ by the Spirit’s power, bringing healing faith and saving grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
