1 John 1:9

If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing. – 1 John 1:9

Abba Father, with thanksgiving and gratefulness in our hearts we exalt your Holy Name to the heavens. All the earth gives you praise Lord, for it all belongs to you, the earth and everything in it. Your works are so magnificent that they are beyond human comprehension. Your love for us is immeasurable and your mercy abounds through the ages, stretching across all boundaries. Your promises are unshakable, and your loving kindness brings us to our knees, with exultant hope in our hearts.

You are the God of Righteousness, complete and absolute in Holiness. You are perfection itself, infallible and true. We have sinned against your sublime love and supreme compassion, but you did not abandon your wanton people. You sent us your own beloved Son, Jesus, to heal, enlighten, teach, preach, your Holy Word and bind us to you in a covenant of everlasting love, opening to us the kingdom of heaven as an eternal resting place for all the faithful. His death redeemed us, sanctifying us and cleansing and erasing our iniquities, making us worthy to come before you.

Father, we have the assurance of eternal life in Christ Jesus, if we remain true to your new covenant of love of God and neighbor, living  in total obedience of your Holy Will and Word. We are truly penitent and in great humility, confess our sinfulness, walking in the Spirit, and bearing witness to our Christian faith. We pray that by fervently avoiding evil and seeking your mercy and justice when we err, we can become recipients of your grace, partaking of our heavenly inheritance as your children, through Christ our Lord. Amen
