True, he died on the cross in weakness, but he lives by the power of God; and we who share his weakness shall by the power of God live with him in your service. 2 Corinthians 13:4, NEB
Glorious God of Salvation, you gave us your Word made Incarnate to rescue us from sin and destruction and uplift us to restoration and a fragrant faith of life eternal, in you and with you. Our Lord and Savior assumed the life of mortal man with all but its sinfulness, with total assent to your Divine Will, so fulfilling your promise of redemption for despicable humankind and striking down the evil principalities and powers of this world. He was made subject to every humiliation and degradation, bearing the sacrilege of scorn, betrayal and brutal death, yet offering in return salvation for the repentant. By his Blood he ransomed people from all nations for deliverance and now, in Sovereign Power and Majesty, he sits at your right hand, in resurrected glory, opening to us the floodgates of your Heavenly Kingdom and empowering us as your children. Abba Father, sanctify us as we further our Mediator’s ministry with the assistance of your Holy Spirit and make us worthy partakers of inheritance in your Kingdom of Light, in Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen
