He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. 2 Peter 1:17–18
Abba Father, we have great cause to rejoice and allow our voices to resound through all the hemisphere at the glory and majesty of our Savior Jesus Christ, who assumed mortal form and dwelt amongst us. Father, you and the Son are one, in Triune Godhead with the Holy Spirit. The splendor of your presence fills the atmosphere and we reverence your sacred being.
Jesus’ apostles lived with our Lord throughout his ministry on earth and witnessed and testified with wonder-struck awe the adoration of father for son and son for father, when the heavens opened and your thunderous voice echoed with the pleasure of your son’s obedience in performing all the great works commissioned by you.
They were all transfixed at the Lord’s transfiguration, beholding the magnificence of the son of man. The greatest they experienced, was the sacrificial offering of Jesus on the cross, nailed with the iniquities and transgressions of the entire world, breaking the chains of our bondage, setting us free, purifying us by washing away our sins with his precious blood and requiting us with eternal life. It is a life of deliverance and reconciliation with, and in the presence of our Father God, that we look forward to, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
