When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Mark 10:14–15

Abba Father, your sublime love for us is all-encompassing, as our beloved Savior Jesus amply demonstrated during his ministry and Messianic mission to seek and save every lost and wandering soul, like a good Shepherd tending his flock. In similar manner, you passionately keep count of your children, watching over them like a vigilant father, protective and zealous. You chide us with gentle reproof when we are wrong, steering us to the right path when we turn to you with childlike trust and adoration, ever willing to forgive our disobedience when we break away from worldly and wrongly acquired traits and tendencies and return to you. Jesus’ indignant rebuke to his disciples, when they prevented little children from approaching him, saying that the kingdom of heaven belonged to such as these, proved that it is trusting, childlike faith of your people that pleases you Lord, making them endearing to you and rendering those who are rebellious and worldly wise to become the rebuked recipients of your just condemnation, chastisement and righteous wrath. Lord, endow us with courage to endure suffering and tribulation as part of the spiritual battle that leads the victors to the kingdom of heaven, enabling men to be reborn as children of our Almighty Father, the one, true God. Reposing our faith and trust in you, we pray that we may share the glorious gospel of grace without any exclusion, drawing souls to a saving faith in Jesus’ Name. Amen
