MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 7 DECEMBER

THE 7th OF DECEMBER

GOD FIGHTS FOR US

Then Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Be strong and courageous, for this is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are fighting.” – Joshua 10:25

The Lord fought on behalf of His people in an extraordinary way. When Joshua prayed, God stopped the sun from setting for nearly an entire day, giving His people enough time to defeat their enemies. In Joshua 10:14, it is written, “…there has been no day like that, before it or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, because the Lord fought for Israel.” This demonstrates that when we pray with faith, aligned with God’s will, He performs miracles and fulfills the desires of our hearts.

Joshua was a leader who completely relied on God, seeking His guidance for every decision. God honors such faith and dependence by directing our paths, warning us of potential dangers, and blessing us abundantly. In times of difficulty, we must remember God’s faithfulness and, like Joshua, choose to be strong and courageous. Trusting in God enables us to face challenges with confidence, knowing He will fight for us and make a way where there seems to be none.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for always taking care of me. You parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, allowing them to walk on dry ground. Nothing is too difficult for You. No matter how impossible my situation may appear, I trust that You will help me overcome it and lead me to victory. Lord, just as You stopped the sun to help Joshua, I ask for Your divine intervention in my life. Help me to remain strong and courageous, trusting in Your power to conquer every challenge I face. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
