January 4, 2021THE ANGEL PAID A VISIT
The angel paid a visit to Mary today,
In a stable filled with cattle and hay
And in a manger, both stark and bare,
It placed her babe in swaddling wear.
Mary kneels low and Joseph her spouse
Filled with awe, his head humbly bows
Both submitting to God’s Holy will,
The divine babe is tranquil and still.
Then the heavens open and angels sing
The message of the miracle they bring
And a star in the sky spreads out its light
Guiding the shepherds in the dark of night.
They all crowd around the stable to see
Paying homage, they go down on their knee
Then stepping aside, as three kings alight,
Hurrying to witness this wondrous sight.
The King of kings has taken human form
As a Savior of men, today He is born,
And the world rejoices, as lowly and lord,
On Christmas, welcome the Son of God.
