Colossians 1: 11-14

March 18, 2020
…being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:11–14

Dear Father in heaven, we bow before you in thankful adoration, for you are a God of Power and Might, and created in your Holy image, you have bequeathed to us the same strength and endurance, to face bravely and defeat the rulers of darkness and emerge unscathed and righteous, into the light of your grace. We thank you at all times, in all things and in all circumstances, for the gifts of endurance and forbearance, by which, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we are restored as your children, to your glory.

You have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained the freedom from condemnation for our sins. We have been cleansed and made chaste, by being transformed into righteousness, as co-heirs of your Kingdom and heavenly citizenship. Lord, we faithfully endeavour to abide in Jesus, so that he may abide in us, and make us his own, whereby we, having been rescued and redeemed as believers of the Truth, relinquish our lives to you.

We hand over to Jesus the reins of our lives, with the power, authority and strength, to live in us, through the Power of the Holy Spirit. We have been  transformed from sinners bound by sin, into new creations meant for heaven, and, rescued from the power of sin and its consequences, we look forward with joy to your Kingdom and await the redemption that will free us to the very depth of our being, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
