Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14
Abba Father, our Creator, All-powerful and All-knowing, through our own iniquity and heresy, of rebellion and sinful disobedience, we were in bondage to the evil ruler of the world, from whom we could not escape on our own strength. The deadliness of our sin and despair threatened to consume us and we called out from the abyss of misery, invoking your Holy Name and appealing to you to save us. Lord, we had full trust and faith in your promises, providence and protection, knowing that our cry would not go unheeded.
You reached out to your needy children as only a Father with unconditional love and faithfulness can do. You delivered us from danger of destruction, death and decay, by sending Jesus as our Messiah, to outdo the devil by shepherding us all into the Light of your purifying Grace. You have delivered all believers from the shackles of ignominy and dealt us a gratuitous freedom, not through our meritorious deed, but by your Grace, for without you we are nothing. You lifted the yoke of iniquity, replacing it with a free and eternal gift of salvation.
Lord, we have absolute trust in our Righteous God, Who will never leave his people orphaned, and we wait in eagerness for your Word to come to pass in this world, when the ruler of darkness will be ousted and placed under Jesus our Savior’s feet. We await the second coming, of the Prince of peace and tranquility, who will gain victory over disease, death, and destruction, and we hope in your promise that we will reside in the healing Light of your Presence, through Christ our Lord. Amen
