You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Exodus 19:4–6
Abba Father, from the very beginning of creation you have afforded us the treasures of your Heavenly domain, where we would join the celestial choirs in the chorus of your praise.
But we rejected the offer of our Creator and brought upon ourselves the curse of sin and bondage and its negative effects, which wreaked havoc and brought death in its midst. Yet, despite our opposition to your commands and disobedience to your precepts, you demonstrated your sublime love and benevolence by saving us and holding us to yourself.
We are your penitent children, God, your own chosen ones, handpicked and earmarked for salvation to the higher order of priests and evangelists. We are ever grateful to dwell in your shadow and under your mighty and protective refuge, surrendering in absolute trust to the Monarch having exclusive authority over all the people of the earth. Though all the inhabitants of the world are yours, by right of creation and providence, you have chosen us as special recipients of your divine Providence and dispensation, receiving your gospel revelations and entering into your everlasting Covenant.
Your Divine Grace and tender disposition towards your treasured creation brought us not only liberty, but communion with you, our Father. We are blessed that you considered us worthy of your providence and grace, and that our Savior Jesus from whom we revolted, reconciled us to you by his death and resurrection and led your errant children to you, for it is by his atonement for our sins that we are united with you.
In Jesus’ mighty name we repent for all the atrocities we have committed, with humble submission we acknowledge your eternal dominion over us and we surrender our lives to your Holy Will. Amen
