Ezekiel 36: 26-27

13 December, 2020

I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart. I will put my spirit in you and will see to it that you follow my laws and keep all the commands I have given you. Ezekiel 36:26–27

Eternal Father, you are all-powerful, an Omniscient God, full of infinite love and we marvel at the Might of our Creator who has, in his divinity, offered to give us a new heart with unwavering faith and an indwelling Holy Spirit sanctifying us with your grace and mercy.

You have released us from the evil bondages of sin for the hidden pleasures of this world and even in our disobedience and rebellion you have, through your compassion, worked out your plan of redemption, knowing our fickleness and instability of nature.

Evil deeds and words have revealed us as disloyal and with poor integrity. But you are a God of impregnable strength and steadfastness, who humbled yourself to become incarnate and offer your flesh and blood as a sacrifice to obtain for us the gift of eternal life through salvation. We have been reborn, through our faith in your promises and belief in your statutes and doctrines which, if followed, will lead us to your Heavenly Kingdom.

Christ in you, Christ in me, through faith in Him, we are wonderfully new and we die to the things of this world, crucified with Jesus on that awful cross and yet eternally alive like never before, because you Lord, gave yourself to and for us. We are merged with you, Abba Father, who loves us, and we await the day when we will enjoy the presence of your holy countenance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
