And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So through God you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then an heir. Galatians 4:6–7
Abba Father, we acknowledge in grateful exultation of your Being, that You are the King and Saviour of the world. Thank You that You sent the Holy Spirit of truth Who proceeds from you, Father, to live in us and guide us as we journey through this hostile world on our way to our heavenly abode.
We rejoice and marvel at the exalted state of Christians under the gospel dispensation of the new Covenant, at the wonders of your Divine love and mercy and particularly, of you, the Father, sending your Son into the world as a redeeming sacrifice for our salvation.
We praise and glorify the Son of God, in submitting so low, and suffering so much to uplift us, and the Holy Spirit, in condescending to dwell in the hearts of believers, for such gracious purposes. As Christians enjoying new life in Christ, directed by the gospel of Truth, though by nature we are sinful and deserving of your wrath, Heavenly Father, we become by grace, children of love, and freely partake of the nature of your sonship by our faith and obedience to your Word.
Among men, the eldest son is heir; but in Heaven, we are all children of our Heavenly Father and shall have the inheritance of eldest sons. May the Holy Spirit witness with our spirits that we are children and heirs of God. Abba Father, may we prove worthy of our estate by our exemplary conduct and incur your blessings in Jesus name. Amen
