There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11

Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for creating a magnificent earth for us, and everything you have established and ordained for us, is incredible when we look back and survey the works of your Hands. May all that you have done remain alive in us, so that we can look forward with eyes of faith and belief and works of obedience, aware that our lives are in your hands and that you always lead us to something new, great, and glorious.

We keep your Sabbath Day Holy, just as you have commissioned, to give glory to your creation which you established in seven days. Your Sabbath rest is to your people, who acknowledge you and perform the tasks you have purposed for them in obedience of your Will, working for you among the people. Again and again you will bring them your rest, until the coming of the last and glorious Sabbath on which your kingdom can be established.

We have a great High Priest, Jesus, who has passed into the heavens, and has entered into his rest, completing his commission on earth, to reign and to rest with divine tranquillity in the kingdom of the Most High. And seeing that He possesses it, certainly we shall possess it if only we hold fast to him. We pray that as Christ has gone into his rest, we too, after our labour, will enter into the same rest, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
