Isaiah 25: 7-8

On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. Isaiah 25:7–8

Heavenly Father, your eternal favors and continuous Grace bequeathed to us is the reason we now live in faith and hope of your Everlasting Promises. We are humbled by your love for us, and sing your praises with grateful hearts. By our sins, we had sold our souls to Satan in exchange for the pleasures of the world, but with it came the consequence of eternal bondage, death and damnation in hell fire.

Your tremendous zeal for your creation saved us from destruction. Your beloved Son Jesus came into the world, took the curse of our sins upon himself and by his death and crucifixion victoriously nailed our sins to the cross, restoring us to righteousness and ripping away the darkness of sin and death. By vanquishing the evil one and reconciling us with you forever, he has led us forth into your healing Light of love and forgiveness.

Death is the equalizer that comes to us all and not king nor pauper can escape it. God’s wrath for our disobedience brought death and condemnation, but Christ’s Resurrection removed the sting of death by delivering us to an eternal communion with our Father and perpetual restoration to the Heavenly Kingdom, thus defeating death forever.

Christ’s victory is our victory, by our faith. He is our Head and all believers, the members of Christ’s body. Strengthen our belief, Lord, and increase it to all peoples, to the ends of the earth, to enable us to face the challenge of death victoriously, because everyone who believes, is a conqueror of death by faith, through the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
