Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you! Isaiah 64:1–2
O King of glory, Almighty Father, you are the God of gods and we richly pour out our praises to the magnificence of your being. In your wrath the mountains quiver and melt away. In your might and power the earth tremors and the nations bow before your majesty.
In times of tribulation, when an impenetrable wall of trouble and agony halts our feet and throttles our hopes, we turn to you Lord, seeking your aid to deal with our insolent adversaries who malign your holy church with heresy and severe outrages, and wreak havoc, blaspheming your glorious name in your holy places of worship.
The earth is in such a state of unrest that we look heavenward for rescue and relief, waiting for a signal manifestation of your absolute authority and supremacy, rending our malicious foes in no doubt of the repercussions of their actions and of your fury against evildoers and malevolent rebels of your holy precepts.
We know that being omnipresent, you fill the entire earth with your being and we pray that you display your spiritual presence in our lives at moments of utter despondency, for we know that your measure of domination over the earth is love, mercy, forgiveness and justice.
We have inherent faith in your saving grace and await your coming, when justice is nigh and when, because of vehement uprising against your faithful people, you make a triumphant arrival to avenge your church and accomplish what has been revealed in visions and prophecy when the earth and all nations, to the ends of the earth, will acclaim your dominance and pay homage before you on bended knee, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
