Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
Heavenly Father, Creator and Redeemer of mankind, in Whom we trust and in Whose Mighty hands we rest, all over the world today, is suffering, pain and sorrow. We seek your countenance, to shine upon us, for you are our Refuge, Fortress and Stronghold and we dwell in you, as you dwell in us. We find joy, comfort, solace and consolation when we derive strength from your eternal faithfulness, and we rejoice in your promises given to us.
Those who are borne down with sorrow and pain will be comforted by the assurance of your love and mercy for mankind, when they turn to you and acknowledge you as God. All our fears shall be assuaged, with the consolation given by the Holy Spirit, our Counselor and Comforter or when we are standing penitently before you, in the life to come. For there is a mourning which is a worldly sorrow, and one that is a godly sorrow, working repentance to salvation.
Lord, there is always a purpose and a blessing in our pain. When Jesus was broken by a crown of thorns, nails, and spear, his blood poured out, cleansing out all sin, proving to be redemption for the broken. We are the body of Christ, sent to represent Him. We need to console and be consoled. To repent and be uplifted. To ask your forgiveness for our sins and be healed of our brokenness, simultaneously being helpful in getting healing and comfort to those around us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
