This, then, is how you should pray:“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9–10
Dear Heavenly Father, we exalt your Name to the heavens, where mighty voices are already in chorus, chanting the power and integrity of your infinite Majesty. It is with incredible joy that we perceive what will be ours, in the eternal realms. We marvel in the perfect love and zeal you have for us and are humbled.
Our Lord Jesus taught us how to approach you in prayer and in petition and revealed to us that the proper practice of prayer begins with a proper understanding of your unfathomable love for us. We can approach you with confidence that you know our needs before we even pray, and therefore as we pray according to your Will, you hear and answer us.
God, the length or eloquence of our prayers does not impress you, but the outpourings of our heart, our soul engaged in a lively faith and the simplicity, honesty and humility with which we pray will obtain an answer from you. We also have total confidence, which Jesus himself has endowed us with, to pray and ask for all our needs in Jesus’ Name. Amen
