MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 1 NOVEMBER

THE 1st OF NOVEMBER

IF WE DIED WITH CHRIST, WE WILL ALSO LIVE WITH HIM FOREVER

“For if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.” — Romans 6:8-9

When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and were born again, we died to sin. By choosing to follow Jesus and become more like Him, sin lost its power over us. We still face temptation, but we now fight from a place of strength because we are in Christ, and the Holy Spirit is always there to help us.

Jesus took our place, paying for our sins, and made it possible for us to live with Him. Not only are we dead to sin, but we also have the promise of living with Jesus, experiencing His grace on earth, and looking forward to a glorious eternal life with Him in heaven. Just as death no longer had power over Jesus—who rose from the dead and received an eternal, glorified body—so we too can find encouragement in these verses during hard times. We know that we will never truly die but will join our Lord in the place He has prepared for us, to be with Him forever.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You, Father God, for sending Your Son to die for my sins. Through His sacrifice, I am also dead to sin and alive in Christ. Lord, please help me always remember that, in You, I am free from sin and can overcome temptation with Your strength. Because death has no dominion over You, my Lord, I know that I, too, will live forever. Help me to live in a way that honors You and enjoy the abundant life that Jesus came to give me. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
