REIGNING IN LIFE THROUGH JESUS

“For if, by the offense of one man, death reigned through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:17

This verse highlights the contrasting results of Adam’s sin and Christ’s atonement. Adam’s disobedience led to the loss of life’s dominion over the earth as he chose to follow Satan rather than God. Darkness replaced light, and death overtook life. Adam and Eve had no children before the fall, but from that moment forward, every child has been born into sin under the reign of death. This is why we must be born again in Jesus to receive salvation and eternal life.

If disobedience could bring such power to death, how much greater is the power of life through Jesus’ obedience when He died on our behalf? God resurrected Jesus, and true life is found only in Him. Jesus offers us an “abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.”

We must recognize the overflowing love of God expressed in His unmerited favor and righteousness, gifts made possible through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. In Him, we can “reign in life,” living a higher and more excellent life than Adam had before he sinned. To reign in life means to fully trust God, live victoriously, and shine for Jesus.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for making a way for me to live in victory, as the head and not the tail, always above and never beneath. Help me, Lord, to avoid the path of death and always remember that Your grace and righteousness are more than enough for me to live rightly and reign in life. You deserve all the glory and honor for who You are and what You accomplished for me on the cross. Glory and praise to Your Holy Name forever. Amen
