THE 2nd OF APRIL
GOD BLESSED THE DAY OF REST FOR OUR GOOD
“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” – Exodus 20:11
God designed the week with six days for work and one day of rest—the Sabbath—for a purpose. He created us in such a way that after six days of labor, we need a day to rest and recharge. The Sabbath is meant for our benefit, allowing us to focus on our relationship with Him, relax, and only attend to tasks that cannot be avoided.
Achieving a proper balance between work and rest is essential, not just weekly but daily. If certain activities constantly leave us feeling drained, exhausted, and overwhelmed, it is important to take notice and make adjustments.
Our bodies and emotions give us warning signs. Frequent headaches, persistent aches, neck pain, and muscle soreness, along with increased irritability, stress, or a sense of unfulfillment, may indicate that we are physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually depleted—burned out.
In such a state, even an activity-filled vacation can leave us feeling more exhausted rather than refreshed. Instead, we need to identify where we feel most drained, seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to restore our energy, and establish a balanced rhythm between work and rest. Only then can we remain productive while maintaining our peace and joy.
Dear Lord, help us to keep You first in every aspect of our lives. Teach us to manage our time wisely, so we can be both productive and well-rested. Remind us to seek You in prayer continually and to follow Your guidance in all we do.
With so many responsibilities, we rely on Your strength to prevent exhaustion and fatigue. Fill us with Your presence so that we may find renewal in You. Help us to worship, pray, and live with joy, maintaining the right balance between work and rest. May we always walk in Your anointing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
