THE 2nd OF DECEMBER
THROUGH JESUS, WE CAN REPLACE WORLDLY THINKING WITH GODLY WISDOM
“If indeed you have heard Him (Christ) and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:21-24
Jesus is the ultimate truth, and His life serves as the perfect example for us to follow. As His followers, we are called to learn from Him, renounce our old ways, and fully shed our former selves. Our sinful nature, driven by carnal desires, leads to corruption. However, through God’s grace, we can be restored by renewing our minds.
This renewal comes through the revelation of God’s Word by the Holy Spirit. As we replace worldly ways of thinking with God’s truth, we are transformed. The more we align our thoughts with God’s wisdom, the more we grow spiritually, sin less, and experience the life He desires for us. God’s Word, made alive in us by the Holy Spirit, brings about this transformation, shaping us into the individuals He created us to be—rooted in righteousness and holiness.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to grow continually in the knowledge of Your Word. Open my heart and mind to understand its truths through the Holy Spirit, so it becomes real in my spirit and brings transformation. Teach me to cast off my old nature and embrace the new self You’ve created in me, renewed and aligned with Your truth. Strengthen me to live according to Your will, becoming more like the person You intended—walking in true righteousness and holiness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
