THE 20th OF JULY
IF THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN US, WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11
It is indeed amazing, to be God’s children! Life with Jesus extends beyond the grave and is far more valuable, brighter, happier and easier than life lived without Him. Even when we go through hard times, we find the true purpose of living in Him without parallel and we are never alone, because Jesus lives in us, through the Holy Spirit. The Lord protects us, cares for our needs and the Holy Spirit not only helps us, but He also comforts and gives us strength.
As Jesus said in John 14:19, “Because I live, you shall live also.” Because of the new birth in Christ, that granted us a new spirit, we continue to grow and mature spiritually. The Holy Spirit brings life even to our bodies, as iniquity is defeated, and we keep on living by the Spirit of God, discarding our fallen carnal nature. Our bodies that used to have so many evil passions and desires, continues to change for the better, becoming more and more like Jesus.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Almighty Father, Your perfect plan for my life includes Your desire to bring Your life into all of who I am. Help me to live a holy, pure life, set aside for You, and grant me the grace to rid myself of old habits or ways of doing things. Please help me change all that is not yet right in me and to live to please You, through the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and that leads us to eternal life. Glory, honor, and praises to your Holy Name. Amen
