THE 20th OF APRIL
THOSE WHO HABITUALLY DO GOOD WILL RECEIVE GLORY, HONOR AND PEACE
But glory and honor and peace shall be awarded to everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality, undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another. Romans 2:10-11
If we choose to do what is right, the Lord rewards us with the glory of His presence. He gives us the honor of being His children and the inner peace that comes from the insurance of salvation, whether we are Jews or Gentiles. Many Jews believed that they would go to heaven whether they were obedient to the Lord or not, because they were the “chosen” people of God. Paul clarifies things, for the Jews’ sake, who need to believe in Jesus, repent and live holy lives like any other human being on earth, in order to be saved.
God shows no unfairness. The Lord is just and holy in everything He does and decides. His commandments are the same for all people on this planet and we are all equal before the Lord, regardless of nation, gender, social position or education.
It is not enough for the parents to bring their children to church to every service believing that if they “grew up in the church” they would be saved. Salvation is personal and everyone must ask Jesus to become the Lord of their life, repent of sins, and become born-again by the Holy Spirit. Whatever happens in the heart of the believer is shown in their behavior as well as in the way they speak, no matter what a great actor the person might be.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Praise, You Lord for all You have done for me here and for eternity! Thank You for my salvation. What a wonderful place You prepared for me, a heavenly dwelling, where there are no tears, no pain and no sin! Please help me Lord, to live to please and obey You in all things, so that I may spend eternity with You in joy, peace and absolute happiness! Thank You with all my heart. Amen
