MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 22 AUGUST

THE 22nd OF AUGUST

OUR LORD STRENGTHENS US WHEN WE TRUST IN HIM

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength.”  Isaiah 40:28-29

These verses are both beautiful and uplifting. Isaiah’s wordplay enhances the impact of his message, drawing us in with questions that pique our curiosity. As we continue reading, we are met with profound, life-changing truth: God, the Creator of all that exists, is never weary. His greatness means we can always rely on His help and protection because He never tires or needs rest.

Our Lord is always attentive to us, fully aware of everything within and around us. His understanding is infinitely deep, beyond human comprehension. In His boundless knowledge, He grants us the strength we need when we grow weary, enabling us to persevere on His path. Many of us have experienced moments when we felt unable to take another step, yet God’s strength sustained us. Even if we didn’t recognize His presence at the time, He was guiding us as part of His plan of salvation. All we need to do is accept His help, focus on Him, and allow His power to renew our strength.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I am truly blessed to be Your child. In You, all my needs are met, and I can accomplish all that is required of me. You care for me in ways I cannot fully express, and I am eternally grateful. Please help me to continually praise You, no matter the circumstances, and to never doubt that You are always with me. You never leave me nor forsake me, and I do not want to stray from You. Since nothing is hidden from Your sight, help me to trust in Your help and strength. Glory and honor to Your Holy Name, now and forever. Amen
