THE 23rd OF DECEMBER
GOD REWARDS THE GOOD DONE WITH THE RIGHT HEART
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. – Galatians 6:9-10
The apostle Paul lived what he preached and because he knew how important it is to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he is teaching us to do the same, so that when the time comes, we might “reap eternal life.” Sometimes we are tempted to give up on doing what is right when others hurt us and put us down. But only by not becoming discouraged and by continuing to obey God can we make it to where we reap the good results of our work. The enemy does all he can to get us to quit, even until the last minute of our lives. But perseverance always pays.
So, whenever we have the opportunity to help, bless or do something good for someone, especially for another Christian, we should do it. All that we do with the right heart, will bring heavenly rewards, that we will enjoy for all eternity. The more we understand and receive God’s love, the more we can love and bless others. We are called to help each other in our daily lives, and to grow spiritually and live right for the Lord.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank you Lord for teaching us all we need to know to live right for You, in Your Word. Please help me not to allow my feelings to make me quit in helping and blessing others, but to press in so that I am able to reap the harvest of Your blessings. Lord please help me to use every opportunity to do good to those around me and especially to my brothers and sisters in Christ. Please help me to understand the depth of Your love, receive it and than be able to love others and help them grow in their relationship with You and in becoming more like You. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
