THE 27th OF SEPTEMBER
GOD IS THE FATHER OF EVERY FAMILY IN HEAVEN AND EARTH
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.” – Ephesians 3:14-15
The apostle Paul, upon recognizing the magnitude of God’s plan for salvation—uniting both Jews and Gentiles in Jesus Christ—humbled himself and bowed in reverence before Almighty God. Without God’s choice to offer salvation to all, we would have no way of becoming part of His people.
Every family or group of rational beings in heaven and on earth is united under God’s fatherhood. We all share a common origin, as God is our Creator. God is the first and ultimate Father, and in that sense, every rational being is His child. To remain His child for eternity is only possible through salvation in Jesus Christ, but during our time here, each person has the opportunity to be saved.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
What an honor and privilege it is to be Your child, dear Lord! You carefully planned every detail of my life—how I would look, who I would be, the family I would be born into, where I would live, and the calling You have for me. I bow in reverence to You, dear Lord, as Paul did, and I praise and thank You with all my heart for Your great plan that includes my salvation and gives me the chance to be with You forever. Glory and praise be to Your holy name. Amen
