ONLY BY UNDERSTANDING THE DEPTH OF CHRIST’S LOVE CAN WE BE FILLED WITH GOD’S FULLNESS
“That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:17 b-19
It is only when we are firmly rooted and grounded in love that we can begin to grasp the vastness of Christ’s love. Even then, this understanding comes only through the help of the Holy Spirit. To fully explore the dimensions of Christ’s love, we must walk alongside other faithful believers, experiencing love in action among us. There is no corner of life that Christ’s love does not reach.
No place is beyond the reach of Christ’s love. As we seek God in prayer, asking Him to reveal and allow us to experience the endless, perfect love of Jesus, our understanding deepens, and we receive more of it. Yet, to comprehend this love fully, we must rely on God’s help, for it exceeds mere human understanding.
We can only receive Christ’s love to the degree that we grasp it, and as we grow in understanding, we are continually filled with more of His love. However, there may be areas in our hearts—hidden wounds from the past—that prevent us from fully embracing Christ’s love. These wounds must be healed, and only the Holy Spirit can cleanse these areas if we ask Him. Once our hearts are healed, we are free to experience the fullness of God’s presence, being filled with God Himself.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to be deeply rooted and securely grounded in Your love, so that I may fully comprehend the vastness of Your perfect love for me. Surround me with more brothers and sisters in Christ, that we may together experience Your love in action among us. I find comfort in knowing that there is no place where Your love cannot reach me. Please heal my past wounds and cleanse my heart, so that I may be filled with Christ’s love and experience the fullness of Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen
