MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 3 SEPTEMBER

THE 3rd OF SEPTEMBER

OUR THOUGHTS SHAPE OUR LIVES

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.” – Philippians 4:8

Paul offers us profound wisdom in this verse. As Christians, our thoughts, words, and actions should be rooted in truth, honor, and respect. Even when doing what is right may lead to challenges, God will guide us to the correct outcomes because of our obedience and commitment to His ways.

Living by what is pure, lovely, admirable, and commendable brings peace to our lives. Have you noticed how those who embody these virtues are often a joy to be around? Their positivity and constant praise for God make their presence uplifting and desirable.

We are encouraged to focus our minds on the positive qualities listed in these verses and embed them in our hearts. This requires effort and determination, but the rewards are worth it. By adopting this mindset, we can experience greater happiness and grow to reflect Christ more fully in our lives.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You, Father God, for the good things You have prepared for me. Please help me to always choose to fill my mind with what is true, honorable, respectful, and in line with Your Word. Help me, Lord, to seek what is praiseworthy and to set my mind and heart on what is pure, positive, admirable, and glorifying to You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
