THE 30th OF JUNE

THE POWER OF PRAYER, PRAISE, AND WORSHIP

“Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God].” – James 5:13

Though it might seem simple, this is how our life with the Lord should be: simple. Trusting God for all we need is the key to maintaining this simplicity. We shouldn’t complicate our lives by trying to figure everything out or make things happen on our own. Instead, we need to learn to depend on our Lord. When sickness, suffering, or pain affects us or our loved ones, the best solution is to come to our Lord in prayer, telling Him our needs. Sometimes, the Holy Spirit may guide us to use the authority we have in the Name of Jesus to resist the devil and overcome sickness or an evil attack.

When we are happy and joyful, a song of praise is never far away. Some of us prefer to sing out loud, others quietly in their hearts, whether alone or while listening to their favorite worship songs. It doesn’t matter how we do it, as long as we sincerely praise our Lord. Even in sadness, worshiping and praising God is the best way to overcome despair. When we worship the Lord, we focus on Him, making it easier to let go of our troubles and take hold of our thoughts and emotions, trusting God to resolve them.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You, Lord, for all the spiritual weapons You have given me. In prayer, I can give everything to You, and by praising and trusting You, I allow You to work on my behalf, finding peace and rest. Help me to choose to sing praises to You when I am happy and when I am sad. When I enter into Your presence, sadness cannot stay, despair has to go, and fear has no place in a thankful heart full of praises. Thank You, Lord, for the authority I have in Your Name, as long as I keep a pure heart and live for You. Thank You and praise You for everything. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
