THE NAME OF THE LORD
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10
The Name of Jesus carries immense power and is the safest refuge for us. When we call on His Name in faith, we find shelter in Him. In Exodus 34:6b, God reveals His attributes to Moses, giving insight into the meaning of His Name: “‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.’” We can rely on God’s mercy, love, goodness, and truth, knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us. He will always care for us and transform any negative situation for our good.
As long as we live in obedience to the Lord, we dwell safely in His strong tower, high above evil. What truly matters to us? Are we fully devoted to God? Do we prioritize pleasing Him over satisfying our own desires? When our focus is on fulfilling God’s will, the devil’s influence is diminished because our hearts are set on heavenly things, not earthly ones. In this, we are secure in the Lord.
When prayer becomes essential in our lives and we bring all our needs before Him, replacing worry and anxiety with thanksgiving and praise, we place ourselves under the power of Jesus’ Name. We are then armed and ready to fight the good fight of faith.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, for making the power of Your Name available to me. You are Almighty, and nothing is impossible for You. No matter what I face, I can call on Your Name and find refuge in Your presence. You are my rock and my shelter. I can always depend on Your love, kindness, mercy, and grace. By trusting in You and proclaiming Your Name, I can rise above any trouble or danger that comes my way. There is no safer place than in Your arms, Heavenly Father, and no one can love me more than You do. Glory and honor to Your holy Name forever and ever. Amen
