THE MIRACLE OF MULTIPLIED PROVISION
“For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’” So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and her household ate for many days. – 1 Kings 17:14-15
Elijah and his hostess trusted in the Word of the Lord, and they received the fulfillment of His promise! How often have we faced a crisis and had a thought that seemed surprising yet turned out to be the perfect solution? God speaks to us through His Spirit, aligning His guidance with the truths of Scripture. His words bring peace and calmness, even in the midst of uncertainty. When we falter, the Holy Spirit gently convicts us of sin, urging us toward repentance and change without condemnation.
In contrast, the enemy’s whispers aim to deceive and harm us. These thoughts often mix truth with lies, sowing fear, worry, and despair. Without grounding in the truth of God’s Word, we risk mistaking these deceptive voices for truth, leading us astray.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Father God, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever—always faithful in performing great miracles for Your children. Thank You for Your unfailing love and provision, as proven to Elijah and the widow. Help me to trust in Your promises and discern the thoughts that come from You. Teach me to confirm them through Your Word and strengthen my faith in Your ability to fulfill what You have spoken. Lord, You are just, holy, and true, and I give You all glory and honor forever. Amen
