A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother. – Proverbs 18:24
Abba Father, how blessed are we that through your grace we have come into brotherhood with Christ Jesus, our Savior, our Redeemer, our all in One. Jesus has granted us communion with you, our Lord God and Creator, by revealing, through his preaching and teaching, that we can be one with the Father, by adherence to his covenant of love and by discipleship with Jesus, our master, our friend, and our brother. As human beings, we are all sinners, but by being one, with Christ, we become members of the same body. Lord, thank you for the gift of friends, and family. As a friend, help me to honor all relationships with love, humility, and grace, keeping you at the center.
The truth that all Christians form Christ’s body, makes us closer than brothers and sisters in Christ, the truth to deny ourselves and pick up our cross, following Jesus to eternity. The truth of dying to ourselves and living in Christ. The truth of abiding in him, and have him abide in us, through the Power of the Holy Spirit, making us one body and one spirit in Christ. What bliss, Heavenly Father, to have you so close to us, one with us, through your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus, Who lives and breathes with you and in you and Who is closer than a brother to those seeking him.
Our joy knows no bounds, with the sure knowledge that we can approach you through Jesus, and you will hear the prayers we utter, through song, praise and worship, and grant our petitions, according to your Holy Will. Human friendship is fickle and it falls apart in times of tribulation. A true friend is hard, almost impossible to find, and if found, should be treasured and cherished. Only Jesus offers true friendship and brotherhood, Who has promised never to leave or forsake us, Who will be with us even unto the end of time and we revel in the certainty that we will be answered, whenever we diligently and in absolute faith and confidence, call on Jesus’ Name. Amen
