Proverbs 22:6

Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it. – Proverbs 22:6

Abba Father, we sing your praises to the heavens, for you are rich in grace and glory and we render you thanks for your steadfast, unceasing love and mercy. You are quick to forgive your repentant people, when they turn to you and honor, and glorify your Holy Name, their hearts transformed and their failing faith renewed. But you give strict measure of judgment and punishment to all who oppose and disobey your Holy Word and laws, and these perish and are lost.

Lord, all Scripture is useful in shaping and molding us, in correcting, rebuking and training us, from the impressionable age of childhood. Thus a child, who imbibes the truth, will grow in that truth to perfection in his ways, and will retain and spread the same for the good of all, making them wise and faithful people, trained to developing their faith in order to gain spiritual growth and salvation. When the roots are strong and deep into the ground, the tree is able to withstand all storm and trial and bear much fruit.

Father, Jesus always allowed the little children to gather around him, teaching that they were the gifts of a loving God and as such, theirs was the Kingdom of heaven, because young hearts are pure and truthful in nature. Hence, if guided and given good counsel, discipline being an integral part in raising godly children, they will, as they grow older, become worthy followers of the law by their unwavering faith, hope, obedience, wisdom and understanding of your Word, gaining strength as they grow in good works, and spreading the Truth of your Kingdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen
