Psalm 25: 4-5

26 August, 2020

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4–5

Father God, our Savior, Omniscient, All-knowing, Infallible, even before our conception, you chalked out plans for us to have goodness and prosperity all the days of our lives. We came from you, the Light of Life, into the world, and gaining our salvation through your Son Jesus, we are beholden to return to you, in new life, through the guidance of your indwelling Spirit constantly illuminating the way we ought to follow. It is your Word which is a light to the path you would have us tread, which was first spoken through the prophets and now handed over to us through our Lord Jesus. It is he, who has given clarity and purpose to our lives and imparted to us the precepts of your new Covenant with us. Aid us, Lord, in avoiding hasty judgments in deviance of your just intentions, avoiding the company of scoffers and slanderers of your Word, evildoers who, by the dictates of Satan attempt to lead us astray, thus invoking the severe consequences of your wrath. Teach us Lord, to walk in the counsel and wisdom of your Holy Spirit, with total submission and trust. May we not divert from the straight and narrow ways ordained by you and may we commit to advance forward with humility and confidence in your judgment, with patience and equanimity in your guidance, accepting your ways as ours,  to lead us to truth, through our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Name above all names. We rest in his promise that anything asked of you in his name, will be granted to us. Amen
