Psalm 34: 17-18

8 July, 2020

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17–18, NIV

O Lord, our Father in heaven, we are your chosen ones, privileged to call you Abba. We rejoice in our sonship to the Living God and will sing and shout out your praises loudly and with gladness, all the days of our lives. When the just invoke your Holy Name, you grant them justice and peace. You stretch forth your hand to those of us who are lost and save the most hardened sinner if he hearkens to your voice. In your strength, help us to overcome our weaknesses, in your great love and kindness help us to repent for our callousness and in your goodness, forgive us with a gracious heart. Teach us to be faithful, as you are faithful, draw us to your paths and never let us stray from you. We need you Father, not just today or tomorrow, but always and forever. Save us from sin and destruction, we humbly beseech you in Jesus’ Name. Amen
