Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalm 73:23–24
O Gracious God, of Wisdom and Good Counsel, we commit ourselves to you, with composed assurance, ensconced in your unconditional love. We ascribe our safety to you alone, for through Christ’s atoning intercession we are made inviolable to the doom of our mortal nature. We cleave to your right hand, admitting our helplessness without you and recognizing you as the portion and essence of our lives. We choose to walk in your incandescent Light, trusting by faith in your divine and predestined plan of redeeming us to eternal sonship, believing that we will be saved from the illusions by which the dark powers and principalities of this world choose to destroy us. All who commit themselves to you, God, shall be guided with the counsel both of your word which is the mainstay of your everlasting steadfastness and by your Holy Spirit, reconciling us to perpetual glory in the world to come. The flesh beguiles and enchants us with deceptive desires, but decays and turns to nothingness. It is the spirit, which affiliates us and secures us to you our God. May we not increase our condemnation by our gross sinful folly but with upright heart attain to holiness by your sanctifying grace. Through your most Holy Spirit, embrace us with your love, ennoble us with honor, and uphold us with power. Like a tender parent in continual communion with your vagrant children, save us, dear Father and restore us to newness in you. Through Jesus, our Lord. Amen
