My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Psalm 84:2–4, NIV
God our Father, Gracious and Ever Living God, we extol your Holy Name in thanksgiving and prayer now and forevermore. We marvel at the infinite beauty, perfection and precision of all creation. You are Provider of the universe and even as our heart and soul seeks your iridescent countenance in endless fervor, we rest in the assurance that we can repose carefree and peaceful in the niche of your palm. Help us Lord to shoulder the burdens of life with equanimity, knowing that our lives are under your loving and merciful dominance. Calm our distress and enlighten our hearts with the certainty that our captive spirits will one day soar free and dwell in your beloved presence, that with the angels and saints we may chant your praises eternally. We ask to obtain this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
