He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1–2
Lord God, our Sanctuary, our Shelter, our Stronghold, you exude resplendent strength and glory in the majesty of the array of divine, beatific light, which surrounds you like a cloak, and we cleave to you, to the mercy seat of the Most High, endeavoring to be showered with your radiance and warmth and thus dispel the gloom of darkness threatening to submerge us, engulfing us in a shroud of wickedness.
Now, more than ever, we strive to stay protected and secure in your promises, for there is a tremendous increase of false, audacious denominations claiming to being your true followers and bringing in a new culture, a gospel of convenience, leading your children astray, like wolves, among lambs led to the slaughter.
We need to submit ourselves to you totally, dwelling as close to you as a shadow. We are nothing without you and it becomes our duty and mission as true believers to speak out and testify with calm courage to our absolute reliance and trust upon our Creator God of hope and restoration.
Only your grace gives us sufficiency and we rely on your wisdom, power and patience, for you know that we are dust and if we display flickers of deity, it points to your spirit dwelling in all believers, for you made us in your image and breathed your breath into us.
You have chosen us by grace, saving us from the scourge of sin and eternal condemnation to a life of righteousness, making justification for us, by absolving our sins and reconciling us to a spiritual family. We believe that Jesus dwells in us, making us children of the Father, and we surrender to your holy will and your word, in Jesus our Lord. Amen
