Who stops wars to the ends of the earth, breaks the bow, splinters the spear, and burns the shields with fire. – Psalms 46:9
Lord God, our Stronghold and Sanctuary we cleave to you in great thankfulness, for you are our shelter, our hiding place, where we find rest and release, grace and assurance, security and strength. You turned your face from us when we betrayed you in our wickedness, and allowed us to fall into the hands of our foes, but your steadfast nature, your righteousness, your unconditional love and unfailing promises turned our captivity into freedom, chased and destroyed our evil enemy and lifted us up with power and protection in the very place in which we had been enduring great battles of afflictions, for you heard and answered our call for your mercy.
Lord, your compassion knows no bounds. You give us lasting security and render useless all the plans and ploys of discord and treachery. You grant us profound peace and tranquillity, when we have recourse to you. Your richness of grace and bounties of mercy quell the fires of rebellion and perilous times, end the friction of war and destroy all the weaponry used to perish our souls.
We pray, dear Lord, that the blessings of your mercy for us never cease through any failing from grace in our lives. May we always repose in the safety of your mighty arms, and may our faith grow in recognition of your saving power and your unfailing faithfulness. May we stay rooted in you, and enjoy the peace of Christ to the very ends of the earth. We
