Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. Revelation 2:10
Heavenly Father, King of kings and Lord of creation, we bless your Holy Name for choosing us to stand among the blessed and the redeemed, whose primary mission is to live by your decrees and be faithful to your holy will, in order to be counted among the just of your kingdom. You gave us your only Son as our Messiah and Savior, who suffered for our sins, died and was resurrected, to give us the benefits of eternal life.
Lord, we aspire to attain holiness and perfection through the Power of your Holy Spirit, and through our Lord Jesus Christ, practice your covenant with us, as your faithful elect, adhering in all righteousness to your Holy word, prepared to receive it in faith and prepared to carry our cross, and die, if called to, for our beliefs. If we are to inherit eternal life in your kingdom, we are to detach ourselves from worldly matters and embrace all tests of endurance with perseverance and submission.
The temptations of this world are numerous, and disguised by the cunning of the evil one. Help us Lord to gain spiritual graces to help us through the storms of life. During this Lenten season, as we commemorate Christ’s death and resurrection by recounting his way of the Cross, grant that our faith recognizes that Jesus, who resurrected and ascended into heaven and is at your right hand, making a place for all believers who endure their crosses, will surely walk with us on our way of the Cross, and we will be worthy to stand in your presence, with victory crowning our heads, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
