Romans 13: 12

17 October, 2020

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12

Heavenly Father, you have endowed us with capabilities to acquire perfection so completely, that we can envision, accomplish, research and soar to unimaginable levels in our life. All the glory, honor and exaltation is yours, Father, for the inspiration comes from you and you alone. Without you, we are but the dust of the earth. It is your breath and your Spirit by which we accomplish even the most meagre task.

Yet we mortals dare to believe that everything is by our intellect, wisdom and vision. It is this false ego, pride and arrogance that led us to lose our focus on Christ and the eternal salvation he obtained for us and be drawn into the many deceptive teachings that are flooding the world and being propagated by many denominations and congregations, led by those whose inflated egos make them self-appointed demigods.

Keep us alert, dear God, and awake to the knowledge that the night of Satan’s rule as the prince of darkness and devilry is almost done and the day for Christ’s return is fast approaching. Help us to make our lives living sacrifices and enlighten our minds and cleanse our spirits to don the armor of Christ, the shining Light in this darkened world.

The dispensation of your Grace is reaching its fullness. Strengthen us to discard and destroy all malicious, worldly and corrosive activity and live godly and God-fearing lives that honours the Lord. We profess our faith as believers of the Living God of Light and Truth. As we see the day of Jesus’ return draw nearer, we resolve to lay aside every deed of darkness and array ourselves with the saving armor of the radiance of Christ. Amen
