Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus – Romans 15:5
Heavenly Father, God of Steadfast and Infinite endurance of the nature of human beings, in your Wisdom and Compassion, you understand that we are helpless without you. We very easily tend towards losing direction and the sense of purpose of growing in perfect and true imitation of Christ, conforming to the Spirit of Christ, which alone can help us form a community of love.
In your boundless mercy, you extend comfort, consolation and encourage us to apply ourselves with unanimity of spirit with one another, persevering with single-mindedness of aim, in growing and helping those with weaker faith, so that the universal Church, the body of Christians, with Christ at their Head can be indivisible and like-minded, growing and spreading the filial love of Christ’s followers, to all people of the world.
Lord, help us to stay connected, through the idea of singleness of purpose. We need to strengthen the resolve and faithful service of all who are totally dedicated to Christ, and who in the strength of that dedication are able to endure persecution. May all individuals having the same mind, aim, sentiments and direction through the Spirit of God, form a close bond of union with all who set before themselves the same aim, but need encouragement and support, so that the reward of salvation is assured to all people, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
