All of creation waits with eager longing for God to reveal his sons. For creation was condemned to lose its purpose, not of its own will, but because God willed it to be so. Yet there was the hope that creation itself would one day be set free from its slavery to decay and would share the glorious freedom of the children of God. Romans 8:19–21, TEV
God, our Creator, thank you for all things revealed by you and your Holy Word for the goodness of creation. Although we were condemned to die because of our sinful nature, you redeemed your people from bondage and showed us by your great love for mankind that only your love, your will, your faithfulness and your mercy shall prevail. Age to age you have watched over and preserved your people and even though our very boastfulness and forgetfulness of your majesty and glory have brought us down to our knees, we are trustful of your kindness, justice and mercy. Watch over us as you have done till this hour, and bring us through the storm threatening us today. Manifest your great presence in our lives and give us the grace to fulfill your Holy Will. Only your Will be done on earth as in heaven. Amen.
