Romans 8: 35, 37

10 August, 2020

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?…No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37

Almighty God, you are King of the universe and all it holds, the Mighty Creator and Sustainer of us all and we exalt and glorify you with our complete being. We call you Father, because your unchangeable benevolence has led to our adoption and filial life with you, through the predestined sacrifice of your only Son, Jesus Christ, and through the Power of your indwelling Holy Spirit in us. We are irrevocably bound to you dear Father, by the redeeming gift that Jesus, your omnipotent, living Son offered us, by trading his earthly life for our heavenly afterlife. The richness of the promise of eternal life overshadows any oppression we may be forced to undergo in our temporary abode. We offer you our humble affiliation and resolve to stand steadfast to our faith, notwithstanding all the ravages of sin and temptation it may encounter, fixing our gaze on the everlasting joy it is a portent of. Resting in the assurance of your faithfulness, dear Father, and your abiding and eternal love for us in Christ Jesus, we reiterate that nothing will separate us from your love, for we will overcome, in imitation of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen
