TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
14 MARCH, 2025
Matthew 5:20-26

Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you,
unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.

“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.
But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother
will be liable to judgment,
and whoever says to his brother, Raqa,
will be answerable to the Sanhedrin,
and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court.
Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge,
and the judge will hand you over to the guard,
and you will be thrown into prison.
Amen, I say to you,
you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

Most of us experience hatred and the more we are attached to this evil virtue the more we are empowered to do grievous sins for it’s in the heart that comes all evil intentions that lead us to commit murder, to steal, to commit suicide and etc and these evil things lead us to our eternal death. So Jesus warned us to reconcile with our opponent and never allow hatred to dwell in our hearts which leads to fights, for our dispute with others will be a hindrance in entering the Kingdom of God.
So here are some important things to be considered so we can get rid of such thing and first is to deepen the foundation of our faith through our prayers from the heart, read and comprehend the Gospel, putting it as well into practice. The devil is in a hurry to conquer our hearts so it is necessary to do these instructions whenever we have issues with someone that need to be settled right away and be reminded to do it with great love for only love could counter balance the amount of hatred in this land.

PRAYER

Grant me a life filled with Peace, Faith, Hope, Love and gratitude as well for all the wonderful things you bestowed upon me oh God. And as I consecrate to the Immaculate Heart of my blessed mother Mary your mother may I will be granted the grace to know you better through loving my neighbor especially those whom I need to reconcile with. So please help me to be more humble and confident as well that in times of decision making you will always be here to support and to guide me. Amen
