TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
6 MARCH, 2025
Luke 9:22-25

Jesus said to his disciples:
“The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected
by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

Then he said to all,
“If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself
and take up his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
What profit is there for one to gain the whole world
yet lose or forfeit himself?”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

In this passage, Jesus tells His disciples that He must suffer, be rejected, die, and rise again. He then calls His followers to take up their cross daily and follow Him, reminding them that trying to save their own life will lead to loss, but giving up their life for Him will bring true life.

This challenges us to reflect on our priorities. Do we seek comfort and worldly success at the cost of our soul? Jesus invites us to surrender our desires, fears, and ambitions to Him, trusting that true fulfillment comes through sacrifice and faithfulness. Following Christ is not always easy, but it leads to eternal life and the joy of being with Him.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, You willingly embraced suffering for our sake. Teach us to carry our crosses with faith and perseverance. Help us not to seek worldly gain at the cost of our souls, but to trust in Your promise of eternal life. Strengthen us to follow You daily, even when the path is difficult. Amen
