This is what the Lord says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances.” Isaiah 49:8
Lord our God, we praise you with one accord, our Protector and Author of our Salvation, for although we defiled your name on the earth and made mockery of the glory of your creation, although we mingled in darkness with the malignant foe and gave ourselves up to impiety, your mercy and your love remained unchanged. You waited and watched patiently, for us to realize the extent of our brokenness and stretched out your mighty hand to restore us.
Lord, your goodness and kindness became manifest with the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ, who taught us, guided us, rescued us and atoned for our sinfulness. You have shown to us the magnitude of your righteousness O God, and protected us in your Spirit, knowing our weakness and strengthening us with the fire of your love. You healed us, redeemed us and forgave us when our hearts turned to you in anguish.
Lord, your judgement is just and we acknowledge our lapses and grievances. We entreat you to bear with us, Father, especially when we suffer, that we may be steadfast in hope and may grow in faith, for our salvation is in you. Protect us in every way. Accept our praise and thanks, and may we, by our mission, spread your covenant of love to all people. We pray to discern your ways that we may please you as your humble servants, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
