If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? – Luke 11:13
God of Compassion, in your great love and mercy for mankind, you have always striven to pull us out of danger and sin, save us from darkness and damnation and redeem us to the Light of your grace and the eternal salvation of those who have believed in full faith and adhered to your commands. You have brought us out of slavery to sin and evil, absolving our transgressions by the Blood of our Savior, poured out for our salvation.
Lord, you have manifested your Holy and Steadfast love, by adopting us to sonship, and have appointed and chosen us to your elect ranks, who have absolute freedom and are, through consecration of our lives to your Son Jesus Christ and as members of the great congregation of Christians by faith and belief, citizens and inheritors of the Eternal Kingdom of heaven.
Our earthly fathers are appointed by you to safeguard us in the ways of the world, giving us an upbringing pleasing in your sight, and a tutelage which makes us conversant with your statutes and commands, directing us to walk in your ways. As our Heavenly Father, you have full custody of our souls and are watchful and protective, nurturing us and guarding us, through the Power of your indwelling Spirit. Father, we thank you for the graces bestowed upon us, as we walk in obedience and humility, following your Holy Word in faith and assurance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
